Library Grade & Behavior Standards

The Library Media Center at HHS is a place where students are encouraged to check out our growing collection of books, use a computer, complete classwork, and collaborate with one another! Teachers are encouraged to use the space for collaboration or as an extension of their classroom. Please follow these basic standards to ensure a positive experience for all students.

Behavior Standards:

  1. Respectful Conduct: Treat library staff, fellow students, and the library space with respect.

  2. Permisson to be in library: Students will use Hallpass to leave their class to come to the library where they will also use Hallpass.

  3. Cleanliness: Help maintain a clean and tidy space. Dispose of trash properly and return books to their correct spots.

  4. No Food or Drink: To protect library materials, food and drinks are not allowed in the library.

  5. Proper Technology Use: Use library computers and devices responsibly. Follow all school rules regarding internet access.

  6. Expectations: If students are not productive, they will return to class.

By following these guidelines, we can ensure that the library remains a great place for studying, reading, creating and learning!

Mrs. Whitney Webb

Meet the Librarian:

In 2004, I began my teaching career at Haleyville High School (HHS) and have been fortunate to call it my professional home ever since. I have had the privilege of working alongside some incredible colleagues. Over the years, I've taught a variety of subjects, starting with 9th grade English and Dual Enrollment English, before becoming the senior English teacher. In 2014, I transitioned into my current role as the school librarian. Throughout my time at HHS, I've had the pleasure of coaching, serving as senior sponsor, directing the senior play, sponsoring the chess club, and contributing in many other ways to the school community. Outside of school, my husband Barrett and I stay busy with our two wonderful daughters. I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to be a part of this school and to support the growth and success of our students.
