roots

Students from Haleyville High School and the Haleyville Center of Technology will soon begin to work on several projects as they begin a partnership with Plant'n Roots Farm, located in Brilliant. Many thanks to Conya Rawls, and her dad, Randall, who own the farm, for their willingness to serve multiple communities, while allowing our students to join in and help. Thank you, also to Mike Harrell, with Coastal Solar, for donating the solar panels to HHS, which will help us get started. HHS and HCT students will work to develop a solar powered berry picking buggy to be used on the farm. The farm currently uses both battery and gas powered buggies, but desire to transition to solar in the future. Additionally, students from HHS will be utilized to help on the farm in various aspects as plans develop. We are excited! From learning about hydroponics to tasting fresh produce, time spent at the farm is time well spent! #HCSSLI #HCSSTEAM #bestschoolyearever
