Haleyville City Schools will be on a normal school schedule Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024. We have one bus route that we are making arrangements for, but all others will run on a normal schedule. #OnAMission #HomeOfChampions

This is an important message from Haleyville City Schools. Although many roads are clear, we still have five bus routes that are not safe. We also have had a second water line bust at HHS today and cannot safely serve food out of our lunchroom at this time. HCS will be Virtual on January 22nd, 2024. We are working to get everything fixed and have an alternative food plan for Tuesday if needed. We know that this is not the news most parents wanted to hear, but student safety is our top priority. #OnAmission #HomeOfChampions

Haleyville City Schools would like to thank all of our essential workers who have worked tirelessly and often thanklessly this week during these times with ice and frigid temperatures.
Thank you Haleyville Police Department, Haleyville Fire & Rescue, Haleyville Street & Sanitation, Haleyville Water Department, Lakeland Hospital employees and health clinics around our community. We thank employees at our local grocery stores, gas stations, hardware stores, and other businesses who worked to provide necessities to others. We thank those who helped our families who had no transportation or who could not leave houses to secure food, water, and diapers. We thank those who have pulled others out of ditches or given them rides.
We have an amazing community. Thank you to every single person who has showed kindness to others during these dutifully few days. You are appreciated and you matter!

Haleyville City Schools will be virtual on Friday, January 19th, 2024. Most secondary roads around our area are still dangerous, and we have had a water issue at HHS which could result in icy areas surrounding the schools in the morning. We are not risking employee or student safety by trying to open schools before this safe to do so. Please have students check learning platforms, work on iReady, and check grade level/classroom social media pages. Please be safe and weather aware! #OnAmission #HomeOfChampions
